Product Description
A superb antique late 19th Century French double bed in beautifully figured walnut. It boasts a superbly carved crest on the headboard which is flanked by carved roses over a moulded serpentine top rail topped with turned finials. The footboard features leaf carved cabriole feet and it has elegantly shaped side rails. The whole piece is in a wonderfully mellow coloured walnut with good original patina.
The internal width between the bed rails is only 133cm, but the external width is 138cm. So in order to allow for a standard UK double mattress (137cm) you could either use a bed base that sits on top of the rails and spans the full width of the side rails or use a bed base which lies flush with bed side rails.
No base or mattress included.
