Product Description
A magnificent antique Victorian gilt overmantle mirror in original water gilding dating from circa 1880. It has a moulded d-shaped frame with a beautiful gilded acanthus carved top. The base is flanked by carved and gilded brackets with foliate carving and it stands on white porcelain bun feet. The ornately carved frame which retains its original water gilding has beautiful age and wear with the clay/gesso showing through in lots of places. Later mirror plate. With original backing boards.
