Product Description
A really good quality Chinese camphor wood chest, profusely carved and dating from circa 1920s. With deeply carved reliefs on the top and front of ships and figures fighting within a seascape, on stepped bracket feet. The sides and back are also carved. To the sides are two carved hand handles along with its original fancy brass latch to the lid. Inside, the chest is clean and is lined with camphor wood with its distinctive aroma and has a removable tray. This is a really good example with some good deep detailed carving and a good colour. Would make a great blanket chest, storage box or could be used as a decorative coffee table or TV stand.
