A charming antique Edwardian oak open bookcase with the complete set of Charles Dickens novels in 15 books by the Waverley Book Company Ltd dating from circa 1910. The bookcase and books belong together, having originally been sold as a 15 volume set with the bookcase. This is the Author’s Favourite Edition, in facsimile with many full page illustrations throughout. No publishers date, but published circa 1910. Blue faux leather hardbacks with gilt lettering to the spines. The books include; Christmas Carol. Edwin Drood. A Tale of Two Cities. Great Expectations. Old Curiosity Shop. Little Dorrit. Dombey and Son. David Copperfield. The bookcase is in solid oak with good original patina, tall and slim and houses the books perfectly as it was originally made to display them. Condition Report:
A very nice set, in clean condition with wear and marks commensurate with age. Some small wear to corners of covers, small dents on the edges of the covers and spine along with wear and creases to pages commensurate with age. The bookcase is in good original condition with good patina.
